Speaking little English and not knowing many kids when he first arrived in the U.S. less than 3 years ago, Carlos spent many hours of his 6th grade year in the club, participating in art, science and sports.
At the club, Carlos made friends, received homework help and became part of the Boys & Girls Club family.
Now an 8th grader, we have had the privilege of watching him grow as a leader at school and the club over the past few years. This year he became our Youth of the Year.
“The Boys & Girls Club staff helped make it possible for me to achieve one of my goals of getting good grades by helping me with my homework with a lot of patience & calm.”
