Step outside for some fall fun!

Football and falling leaves – there are so many things to love about fall! While the leaves change color, and the pumpkins ripen, now is the time to get outside and enjoy the crisp air and (slightly) cooler weather in Southern California.

While the children are back in school mode, it’s easy to let the fun of fall, fall by the wayside. However, with these fun activities, your child will learn, play, and get to enjoy the season!

Arts and Crafts

Gather the paint, tissue paper, and coloring pens to create a fall scenery through art. Opt to recreate autumn leaves, an apple tree, or paint pine cones to add some fun art into the season! By allowing your child to create their own design, they’ll get their creative juices flowing as well as thinking about all things fall! Better yet, create a leaf scrapbook so that your child has to collect a variety of leaves, all the while getting some fresh air and learning about nature.

Fall Food

Whether you make an apple tree design out of pretzel sticks and tomatoes, or bake pumpkin cookies, incorporating the season of autumn into your kitchen has never been easier! Ask your child to think about the smells and tastes of autumn, then get cooking!

Take a Hike

Autumn is the perfect time to get outdoors and go for a walk. You don’t have to worry about overheating or getting too chilly, and the bright fall days create the perfect weather to enjoy the scenery. Take the kids out for a walk and talk about different things you observe, such as why the leaves change colors and fall from the branches.

While the holidays are approaching, now is the time to get in some fall activities! At camp, we understand the importance of learning through play. To get your children involved with a great camp that is ideal for them, contact Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley. We have many programs that encourage outdoor activities, personal development, and fun!
