Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday with these fun activities for the whole family.

We all know some of the favorite things that people like to do on Thanksgiving: spend quality time with the family, watch the Macy’s Day Parade, and enjoy a festive feast. While you may have your holiday traditions, there are some fun and educational activities that you can do this year that are fun for the whole family! Check them out below.

Take a walk. Instead of sitting in front of the TV all afternoon, go on a walk with the family. You can spot different leaves, animals, and landmarks with the children while walking off the pumpkin pie!

Play touch football. You don’t have to watch the football to enjoy your Thanksgiving! Get outside with your family and play a game of football, soccer, hide-and-seek, or tag! Running around in the fresh air will surely help you to make fun, lasting memories.

Get out the board games. Board games aren’t just for the elderly and when the power it out. Pick Scrabble, Life, Yahtzee, Snakes and Ladders, or Monopoly for a fun afternoon of brain teasers and enjoyment.

Bake up memories. Start a new Thanksgiving tradition by getting the family into the kitchen to bake holiday cookies or whip up a pecan pie. Encourage each person to bring their favorite recipe and spend the afternoon baking!

Give to others. The holiday is gratitude is upon us – and many of us forget that. This is the perfect opportunity to teach your child how to give back to the community. Head down to your local soup kitchen to help out for a couple of hours or take food directly to a food bank. Your contribution will help many people.

From Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley, we hope that you and your children have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
