Character & Leadership

These programs are the guiding lights that empower and uplift our youth, molding them into responsible and caring citizens. Through these programs, young members develop essential life skills, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of civic responsibility, preparing them to make positive contributions to their communities and become leaders of tomorrow.

Leadership

Torch Club & Junior Torch Club

Our Torch Club program empowers Club members to take on leadership roles by electing officers, organizing activities, and leading community service projects. Through hands-on experiences and mentorship, youth develop essential leadership skills and a strong sense of civic responsibility. This program cultivates a culture of service, teamwork, and personal growth, preparing youth to become confident leaders in their communities.

Good Character

SMART Moves

SMART Moves includes three programs designed to inspire wellness, confidence, and leadership:

SMART Girls: Inspiring girls to create positive, healthy attitudes and lifestyles through prevention, education, self-esteem enhancement, and fitness activities.

Passport to Manhood: Inspiring boys to discover themselves and make positive contributions to their families and communities through hands-on activities.

Youth for Unity: Encouraging individuality and embracing uniqueness as youths explore different aspects of their identity while learning about stereotypes and biases.

Leadership

Keystone

Our Keystone program provides a platform for teens to engage with peers, explore leadership opportunities, and cultivate skills that benefit both their Club and community. Through leadership development, community service projects, and social activities, Keystone empowers former members to become active, responsible citizens and leaders. This program fosters camaraderie, personal growth, and a sense of belonging, creating opportunities for teens to make a positive impact in their Club and beyond.

Good Character

Youth of the Year

Our “Youth of the Year” program celebrates exceptional leadership, effective communication, and resilience among youths in our diverse community. Through this initiative, we recognize and empower young leaders who embody our values of integrity, service, and excellence. Serving as a platform for personal growth and community engagement, Youth of the Year inspires and cultivates the next generation of leaders poised to make a positive impact in society.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion

We at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley condemn any act of racism or discrimination. We advocate for youth to have equitable opportunities and encourage young people to harness the power of their voice. We believe it is critical to speak up and take action because silence is complacency. As a nation, we can and must demand change to support anyone who faces systemic oppression. Together, we must take action to ensure the future is great for the millions of kids that are counting on us.
