Give a Child the Summer You Know They Deserve.

One week at camp can change a whole life. This summer, you can make it possible.

Think back to your best summer as a kid. Maybe it was the week at camp where you tried something new for the first time, the friendships that felt unbreakable, the moment you realized you were braver than you thought.

Now imagine a child in our community who has never had a summer like that. No camp, no adventures, no safe place to just be a kid.

It costs $350 to send a child to camp for a week. We are already subsidizing every camper, bringing the cost to families down to $225, but for too many local families, even that feels impossible.

A campership gift doesn’t just give a child a great week. It gives them:

It costs $350 to send a child to camp for a week. We are already subsidizing every camper, bringing the cost to families down to $225, but for too many local families, even that feels impossible.

  • Academic momentum instead of the summer slide
  • Friendships and belonging instead of isolation
  • Confidence and self-discovery instead of self-doubt
  • The knowledge that someone in their community believes in them

This summer, you can be that person.

Donor Societies

Join a Community of Champions

Our donor societies recognize the extraordinary individuals and families who make a sustained, significant commitment to the future of Conejo Valley’s youth.

Behind every child who walks through our doors and finds their place, there is a community of generous people who made it possible. Our donor societies are how we honor that generosity, and invite those who are ready to make a deeper, lasting commitment to do so in a meaningful, recognized way.

Membership in a donor society is more than a giving level. It’s a statement that you believe in the potential of every child in this valley, and that you’re committed to protecting the opportunities that allow that potential to flourish.

Our Blue Door Champions are monthly donors, and the heartbeat of our ongoing operations. By giving on a recurring basis, they provide the reliable, sustainable funding that allows us to plan ahead, keep great staff, and serve every child who needs us.

Recurring gifts, even modest ones, provide more value over time than one-time donations of the same total amount, because they’re predictable. That predictability lets us say yes to a new program instead of waiting to see if we can afford to.

How to join: Set up a recurring monthly gift of any amount through our online donation portal

Leave a Legacy That Outlasts

A planned gift to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley is one of the most powerful investments you can make in the future of this community. and it may cost you nothing during your lifetime.

Some of our most meaningful gifts don’t arrive in an envelope. They arrive in the form of a decision: a decision to ensure that long after you’re gone, the work of changing children’s lives continues.

Planned giving, also called legacy giving or gift planning, allows you to make a significant charitable contribution through your will, estate, or financial planning, often in ways that also carry substantial personal tax benefits. For many donors, it’s the largest and most meaningful gift they’ll ever make.

You don’t have to be wealthy to make a legacy gift. You simply have to care about what happens to the kids in this community after you’re no longer here to care for them yourself.

  • Bequests: A gift through your will or living trust (the most common form of planned giving)
  • Outright gifts of appreciated assets: Donating stock, real estate, or other appreciated assets instead of cash, avoiding capital gains liability
  • Charitable gift annuities: You make a gift; we provide you with income for life
  • Life insurance designations:  Naming BGC Conejo Valley as a beneficiary of a policy
  • IRA and retirement account beneficiary designations
  • Charitable remainder trusts
  • Avoid capital gains tax on gifts of appreciated securities or assets
  • Reduce your taxable estate
  • Create a meaningful, lasting legacy in your community
  • Maintain flexibility: most planned gifts can be modified during your lifetime
  • Receive income for life in some arrangements
  • Direct how your gift is used, or give unrestricted support to our greatest needs
Including Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley in your will is a straightforward process. Below is sample language you or your attorney can use:

“I give [Choose: ___% of my estate / the sum of $___ / the real property described on the deed as ________ / the personal property described as ________ / all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate / ___% of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate] to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley (Tax ID: 91-2151731) to be used in accordance with the most recent Statement of Intent I have executed with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley. If no Statement of Intent exists at the time of my death, then I intend this gift to support ____________________ [insert name of program/purpose]. If no such program is in existence, then to further the purposes and objectives of the Boys & Girls Clubs as recommended by the CEO and approved by the Board of Governors.”

About the Statement of Intent: This is a short agreement between you and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Conejo Valley that captures your background and specifies how your gift will be used. You may amend it as often as you like without the need to change your will or living trust.

This year, we were able to support the organization through direct donations of appreciated stock, which allowed us to give more generously.

Donating appreciated stock was incredibly straightforward and also tax-smart—it allowed us to maximize our contribution while helping the Clubs do what they do best: open doors for young people.” – The Herkenhoff Family

To learn more or to initiate a stock donation, email Bree Smith, VP of Resource Development or call her at 818-706-0905 ext. 107.

In-kind donations of supplies, furniture, and auction items directly shape the experience our kids have every single day.

Not every meaningful gift comes in the form of a check. The furniture in our Club spaces, the supplies in our classrooms, the items that fill our fundraising auctions – these are made possible by generous community members who give what they have.

Our Clubs run best when they’re stocked with the right tools. From comfortable furniture and technology to school supplies and everyday essentials, in-kind donations of physical goods help us create the safe, welcoming environments where kids feel at home and ready to learn.

If you have an in-kind donation or would like to do a donation drive, please email resourcedevelopmentandmarketing@bgcconejo.org

Our annual fundraising events are a cornerstone of our community support, and the items in our auction help drive the funds that keep our programs running all year long.

If your business, or someone you know, has something worth bidding on like an experience, a product, a service, a getaway, donating it to our auction is a meaningful way to give while also putting your name in front of hundreds of generous community members. It’s good giving, and smart visibility.

Past auction donations have included resort getaways, celebrity memorabilia, exclusive experiences, fine jewelry, restaurant packages, and more.
