Job Description:
Youth Development Professionals play an important role in connecting all youth to opportunities and help youth discover their abilities and interests.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an organized and clean classroom environment. COVID-19 guidelines and safety protocols are followed.
- Prepare lesson plans, implement, and instruct groups of students in academic subjects.
- Help students improve study methods and habits.
- Track students’ attendance and grades working with school when necessary.
- Effectively run programs, services, and other activities for drop-in members and visitors.
- Participate in promoting the club & recruiting new members by encouraging full participation.
- Engage and build relationships with members and parents.
- Efficiently utilize social emotional skills to identify and address behavioral issues and notify Club Director of any escalating issues.
- Monitor and track the success of planned activities and club member engagement.
- Ensure a productive work environment while maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order.
- Monitor rooms during rotations for any support and safety concerns.
- Report and document any club member incident or accident.
- Record accurate timesheets and approvals daily.
- Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals.
- Recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly staff meetings.
- Follow core programming of BGCGCV.
Requirements:
Teaching credential certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree in education.
- Four to five years experience in related field. Teaching in classroom setting required.
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems.
- Ability to communicate with the general public clearly and to organize and problem solve
- Ability to plan, implement and organize quality programs for youth while providing a safe environment.
- Knowledge of MS Office required.
- Ability to recruit new members.
- Strong conflict resolution capabilities.
- Ability to be flexible and change/modify programming based on member feedback.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development of activities.
- Required to keep Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certification on file.
